Carter Winston's ship.
Small, one-man, starship owned and used by well-known philanthropist Carter
Winston into the 2260's. In 2264, Carter Winston crashed his spacecraft
on the planet Vendor, a planet inhabited by a civilization of sentient shape-shifters.
Winston was nursed by a Vendorian, but died a year
later of his injuries. The Vendorian nurse who cared for him took Carter's form
and his identity and allied himself with the Romulans. In 2269, on stardate 5143.3,
Winston's starship was used by the Vendorian to lure the U.S.S. Enterprise
into the Federation/Romulan Neutral Zone. The Vendorian, using the guise of Winston,
convinced the Enterprise crew that he had been caught in a meteor storm. After
being beamed aboard, the Vendorian took Captain Kirk's form and ordered the ship into the Neutral Zone.
The Vendorian was eventually captured and the Enterprise returned to Federation space without
a major incident. ("The Survivor").
